Info

Bilateral clefts extending from the cortical surface to the lateral ventricles are observed. The right-sided cleft shows an open-lip configuration with widening, whereas the left-sided cleft demonstrates apposed walls with no visible cerebrospinal fluid in between. These findings are consistent with bilateral schizencephaly, characterised by an open-lip morphology on the right and a closed-lip morphology on the left.

A few subcortical white matter lesions are seen on both sides, suggestive of cerebral small vessel disease.

Mucosal thickening of the bilateral maxillary sinuses. Mucous retention cyst of the sphenoid sinus.

Case Discussion

Findings are consistent with bilateral schizencephaly, with an open lip on the right and a closed lip on the left.
