Patient with a long history of seizures.

Age: 30
Gender: Male

MRI Brain

There is a cerebral malformation characterised by a left frontoparietal cleft filled with CSF and communicating the left lateral ventricle to the cortical surface. This cleft is lined by heterotopic grey matter. There is also the absence of the septum pellucidum. 

Case Discussion

This case demonstrates an open lip schizencephaly associated with the absence of the septum pellucidum. These cerebral malformations are commonly associated.
