Presentation

Repeated seizures and developmental delay

Patient Data

Age: 5 years
Gender: Male
ct

CSF cleft in the right parietal temporal region lined with grey matter and communicating with the posterior horn of the right lateral ventricle. Polymicrogyria along the upper right temporal lobe. 

CSF cleft lined with grey matter in the left parietal temporal region, not communicating with the left ventricle.

Arachnoid cyst in the left middle cranial fossa causing bulging of left temporal region and mild mass effects on brain parenchyma.

Mild brain parenchymal atrophic changes.

Case Discussion

The features are representing bilateral schizencephaly (open lip on the right side and closed lip on the left side) with polymicrogyria, left middle cranial fossa arachnoid cyst, and mild brain parenchymal atrophy.
