Left facial numbness.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

Relatively well-defined heterogeneously enhancing mass of the left cavernous sinus with scalloping of the posterolateral wall of the sphenoid sinus as well as the sphenoid bone with enlargement of the ipsilateral foramen ovale.

Well-circumscribed extra-axial mass of the left cavernous sinus filling the Meckel's cava and displacing the intracavernous ICA medially which shows a normal diameter. It displays a low signal on T1, moderate high signal on T2 and FLAIR with a vivid heterogeneous enhancement and small central necrosis on postcontrast sequences.

Case Discussion

CT and MRI features of an enhancing mass of the left cavernous sinus displacing the intracaverous ICA medially most consistent with trigeminal schwannoma.
