Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female
X-ray

Sclerotic coracoid process, concerning for a metastasis.  Preserved subacromial space. Mild ACJ arthropathy. No lung nodule evident in the partially imaged left lung.

Case Discussion

Bone metastasis can be sclerotic, lytic or mixed.  The sex of the patient will determine the most likely differentially, which should include prostate cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, and carcinoid.
