Sclerotic rib metastases - prostate cancer

Presentation

Cough ?pneumonia

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male

Densely sclerotic left anterolateral 5th rib. No evidence of pneumonia. 

Nuclear medicine

Osteoblastic activity is present in the right scapula, right lower sternum, left 5th rib anterolaterally, T5, T6, T10 and L3 vertebral bodies, right posterior iliac bone, mid sacral body and left sacral ala, right distal third femur, left mid femur and proximal left humerus. 

Case Discussion

The patient has prostate cancer and these changes represent skeletal metastases
