Screening mammogram.

Patient Data

Age: 63 years
Gender: Female

MLO and CC views.

There are scattered areas of fibroglandular density (Type b BI-RADS).

Vascular calcifications in both breasts, predominantly in the posterior third.

The left nipple is pulled in.

Bilateral artifacts within the cassette.

Category: bening findings (BI-RADS 2).

Case Discussion

Vascular calcification are considered benign findings, but care needs to be taken when these are incipient. In this case it is reasonable to use the category of finding probably benign (BI-RADS 3).
