Case contributed by Dr Jörgen Strömberg

This young male patient presented with diffuse scrotal discomfort for one week. The primary clinical suspicion was that of epididymitis.

Patient Data

Age: 20's
Gender: Male

Small amounts of clear fluid surrounding the right testicle (=hydrocele). Lying dependently within this fluid, there is a small calcification measuring about 4 mm. The calcification is mobile (not shown here).

Case Discussion

The scrotolith, or scrotal pearl, was probably an incidental finding in this case. Upon questioning, the patient could not recall any previous episodes of scrotal pain or trauma.
