Case Discussion

Scurvy is caused by a dietary deficiency of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), therefore, it is also called hypovitaminosis C. It is characterized by an increased bleeding tendency and impaired collagen synthesis resulting in osteoporosis and impaired wound healing.
