1.7cm well defined hypervascular low echogenicity nodule inferior to the lower pole of the left lobe of the thyroid gland.
Thyroid gland normal.

Secondary hyperparathyroidism is a recognized complication of long-standing renal failure - in this case, a dialysis-dependent patient for many years.
The parathyroid glands become enlarged due to hypertrophy.
