Segmentation of the gallbladder

Presentation

Chronic right upper quadrant pain. Weight loss 8 kg / 6 weeks.

Patient Data

Age: 50
Gender: Male
Modality: MRI

There is a 2.5 mm thick transverse septum (almost) completely dividing the proximal third from the distal two thirds of the gallbladder. Also note the discrete signs of adenomyomatosis in the fundus region.

Case Discussion

Segmentation of the gallbladder may affect its function and become symptomatic 1.
