Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Small curvilinear bone fragment adjacent to the lateral aspect of the tibial plateau.


Large joint effusion with lipohemarthrosis.

Segond fracture is an avulsion fracture of the knee that involves the lateral aspect of the tibial plateau.  It is highly associated with anterior cruciate ligament injuries.
