Twisting injury of the knee followed by pain, limitation of movement and swelling

Patient Data

Age: 25 years old
Gender: Male

Avulsion of small bony fragment from the lateral apsect of tibial plateua with associated moderate knee joint effusion.

Case Discussion

Avulsion of lateral capsular ligament results in Segond fracture and is frequently associated with ACL tear though further investigation by MRI is advised for better assessment of soft tissue structures.
