Semilobar holoprosencephaly

Patient Data

Age: 1 year
Gender: Female

Monoventricle with partially developed occipital and temporal horns, but no frontal horns. There is incomplete falx cerebri and incompletely formed interhemispheric fissure. The fusion of frontal lobes, thalami, and basal ganglia noted. The third and fourth ventricles are normal.

Partial premature closure of sagittal, coronal, and lambdoid sutures. The head circumference grossly appears smaller suggesting microcephaly.

This case demonstrates features of semilobar holoprosencephaly.
