Septate uterus with pregnancy

Antenatal check up.

Patient Data

Age: 25
Gender: Female

Ultrasound showed a septum extending from the fundus of the uterus. The fetus is seen to the left side of the septum. 

Case Discussion

Septate uterus is a mullerian fusion anomaly that is commonly undiagnosed as the patient remains usually asymptomatic until pregnancy.The septum then causes miscarriages or results in malpresentations and premature labor.

Differential diagnosis includes amniotic bands.
