Septic arthritis - hip joint

There is moderate joint effusion in the right hip joint.
Post contrast fat sat images demonstrate thickened, enhancing synovium.
The right femoral epiphysis is markedly destructed.
Bone marrow edema is seen involving the upper 1/3 of the right femur.
Significant edema is noted in the surrounding soft tissues.
Case Discussion
The MRI features described above are compatible with septic arthritis of the right hip joint.
