Post mastectomy seroma

Presentation

Recent right mastectomy for breast carcinoma. Now palpable mass lesion.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Ultrasound of the palpable mass shows a 9 x 8 cm seroma containing hematoma. The hematoma was semi-mobile within the transonic fluid of the seroma on ultrasound. 

Case Discussion

Over the next 6 months the hematoma retracted slightly. The seroma was aspirated under ultrasound guidance.
