Presentation
Chronic epigastric pain.
Patient Data

There is a multilobulated cystic mass within the body of the pancreas composed of numerous small cysts with no communication with the main pancreatic duct. It displays a low signal on T1WI, a high signal on T2WI with a central fibrous scar of low signal. The postcontrast sequences show an enhancement of the fibrous septa. No restricted diffusion is seen on DWI/ADC.
A calcified hydatid cyst of the left lobe of the liver is noted (confirmed by ultrasound, not shown).
Note a small intramuscular lipoma of the left abdominal wall.
Case Discussion
MRI features of a probable serous cystadenoma the pancreas which is considered as an uncommon type of benign cystic pancreatic neoplasm with a strong female predilection.
