Presentation

Big toe pain.

Patient Data

Age: 25 year-old
Gender: Male
Modality: MRI

The medial sesamoid shows marrow edema, it elicits low signal at T1 WI and high signal STIR WI, it shows tiny subcortical pseudocystic changes. No fragmentation or collapse. 

Subcortical pseudocystic changes are also seen along the medial aspect of the first metatarsal head.
