Sheared Port-a-Cath remnant

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

5 cm long sheared off part of a Port-A-Cath, likely in the left lower lobe pulmonary arterial branch.


Orphaned sheared segment of previous subclavian venous tubing, unchanged in position, in the segmental branch of the left lower pulmonary artery. 

Case Discussion

A case of a sheared segment of Port-a-Cath which was found to be present in the pulmonary circulation.
