Shiny corner sign

Triangular low T1/high STIR signal at the L4 anteroinferior corner and both the anterosuperior and anteroinferior corners of L5 (shiny corner sign).
The remaining of the spine is normal in appearance.
No sacroiliitis.
3.2cm simple right ovarian cyst.
Case Discussion
The shiny corner sign is observed due to ostetitis in inflammatory arthropathies, most classically in ankylosing spondylitis.
It is best appreciated on STIR, hence the universal use of this sequence in the protocols for assessing inflammatory arthropathies.
