Shotgun wound to the chest

Presentation

Penetrating trauma of the chest 2 years ago. After the elimination of hemothorax and pneumothorax it was decided not to remove foreign body. During the last month haemoptysis developed.

Patient Data

Age: 25
Gender: Male
Modality: X-ray

A metallic foreign body, spherical in shape, lies near the left pulmonary hilum. No surrounding pulmonary contusion or pneumothorax. 

Modality: CT

During surgery the bedsore between foreign body (bullet) and bronchus 6 segment was diagnosed.

At surgery the gun shot pellet was identified and removed.
