Sialolithiasis - submandibular gland

Presentation

Left submandibular region recurrent pain during meals for the last 6 months.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

There is an echogenic focus with acoustic shadowing at the origin of the left submandibular duct. The intraglandular ducts are dilated. The left submandibular gland shows mild enlargement and hypervascularity in comparison to the asymptomatic right submandibular gland. There is no mass lesion in either of the submandibular glands.

The rest of the neck examination was normal.
