Presentation

Work up for abdominopelvic pain and chronic constipation.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
Fluoroscopy

Barium enema reveals a severe stricture in the sigmoid colon, with the difficult passage of the contrast proximal to the stricture site.

Increased wall thickness due to tumoral infiltration is present in the sigmoid colon, accompanied by luminal narrowing and pericolic fat stranding. A few extraluminal air bubbles with surrounding fibrotic changes are also present in the vicinity of the diseased segment. 

The prostate gland is enlarged.
