Short segment active inflammation of diverticuli of proximal sigmoid colon with concentric mural thickening, hyperenhancement, perisigmoid fat stranding and small mural microabscess formation. Areas of perisigmoid meseneteric border extra serosal mesenteric lesions, possible old walled off inflammation.

Case Discussion
Sigmoid diverticulosis is prone to inflammation, which may lead to abscess formation and bowel-bowel or bowel-vesical fistulations. One should also be wary of the higher incidence of bowel neoplasms in such patients and not be outright confident on a benign diagnosis.
