Sigmoidorectal intussusception caused by adenocarcinoma

Symptoms of bowel obstruction.

Patient Data

Gender: Female

CT abdomen and pelvis

Collapsed, intussuscepted sigmoid (intussusceptum) with the mesenteric fat and vessels telescoped into the lumen of the rectum (intussuscipiens). Lead point is colorectal adenocarcinoma, which is clearly demonstrated distally. Free fluid in the abdomen.

Known colorectal adenocarcinoma of the sigmoid colon with failed colonoscopy.
