Presentation

Patient with chronic cough and dyspnea without fever.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Marked parenchymal interstitial involvement manifested by multiple nodular formations of irregular contours with distribution in upper lobes associated with pleural retraction and dense linear tracts of fibrotic appearance. Note also small nodules with peri-scissural distribution in upper lobes, associated with frosted glass and signs of bronchial distortion.

Multiple lymphadenopathies in retrotracheal space and aortopulmonary window.

Case Discussion

Chest CT demonstrates multiple areas of consolidation with fibrosis process in upper lobes with volume loss. Mediastinal lymphadenopathies without calcifications are also shown. The characteristics are in line with silicosis (progressive mass fibrosis).
