Case Discussion

Features are consistent of simple bone cyst with pathological fracture.

Solitary bone cysts ( also called simple bone cysts or unicameral bone cysts) is the only lesion in the mnemonic FEGNOMASHIC that is always central in location and a solitary bone cyst can be excluded if it is not.

Simple bone cysts are usually asymptomatic unless fractured. A classic radiographic finding for a solitary bone cyst is the fallen fragment sign which occurs when a piece of cortex breaks off after a fracture in a simple bone cyst, and the piece of cortical bone sinks to the gravity-dependent portion of the lesion.
