Presentation

Headache with palpable right parietal scalp mass.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

Well-defined large right parietal bone lesion containing radiating pattern of prominent trabeculae with widened diploe. No sclerotic margins.

Non-enhanced computed tomography (NECT) scan of brain shows a well-defined large right parietal lobe expansile lyric bony lesion of calvarial location with speculated appearance and thick trabeculations radiating outward from the center and widened diploe with intracranial extension having soft tissue component.

Case Discussion

Calvarial hemangiomas are rare benign tumors comprising 0.2% of all bone tumors and 2% of all osseous calvarial lesions. They are usually asymptomatic and detected incidentally 1.
