Case Discussion

Two-year history of right hip pain and limping. Coronal CT images demonstrate abnormal minimal slipping of the upper femoral epiphysis.

Slipped upper femoral epiphysis can be classified into:

  • Grade I: displacement of epiphysis <30% the width of the femoral neck
  • Grade II: slip between 30%-60%
  • Grade III: includes slips of >60% the width of the neck

The major differential of slipped femoral epiphysis is Perthes disease.
