Slipped upper femoral epiphysis

Diagnosis almost certain


Minor trauma approximately 6 weeks ago. The patient presents with ongoing pain and limitation of motion.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Female

There is minimal left physeal widening, demineralization of the epiphysis, blurring of the physeal edge, early sclerosis and metaphyseal widening. Posteromedial slip is evident with visible asymmetry of the femoral epiphysis of the left hip in comparison to the right hip.
