This young patient with normal carotids had a TIA

Patient Data

Age: young
Modality: CT

Non-occlusive thrombus in the M1 segment on the left.

CT perfusion demonstrate no infarction, but mildly increased mean transit time.

Modality: MRI

FLAIR nicely demonstrates high signal due to slow flow.

Case Discussion

This young patient with normal carotids had a TIA, and was found to have a non-occlusive thrombus in the M1 segment on the left.
