There is a lobulated heterogeneous echopattern area involving soleus muscle on lateral aspect of calf. It extends to intermusclar plane between soleus and lateral head of gastrocenemius. There are vascular channels within. There is a calcification focus in lesion near caudal end.
Lesion shows vascularity. Vascular channels are prominent in standing position.
Young male presents with localized calf pain while playing for few months. Ultrasound findings favour calf muscle lesion with vascular channels and a phlebolith - slow flow venous malformation.
