Age: 14 years
Gender: Male
mri

Segmental severe, thickened wall of distal ileum.

Segmental mural hyperenhancement: stratified, bilaminar, hyperenhancement of inner layer.

Focal marked narrowing of lumen with upstream bowel dilatation, likely focal stricture.

Mild engorged / prominent vascularity adjacent this segment, enhanced post contrast, (comb sign), and surrounding with fibrofatty proliferation creeping fat.

Subcentimetric mesenteric lymph nodes.

Case Discussion

Segmental terminal ileum wall thickening, stratified mural hyperenhancement, with luminal narrowing, suggestive of a stricture with active inflammation.

Pathologically proved inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn disease.
