Presentation
Central abdominal pain for four days with constipation
Patient Data
CT findings include:
small bowel obstruction with a dilated small bowel measuring up to 3.2 cm
2 x 2 cm solid high-density/enhancing endoluminal nodule in the jejunum as a transition point
small volume of intra-abdominal free fluid
central mesenteric lymphadenopathy
Case Discussion
CT findings are consistent with small bowel obstruction due to a small bowel tumor in the jejunum. The tumor in this case was shown to be a small bowel neuroendocrine tumor on pathological analysis after resection. This is in keeping with the high density/enhancing or solid appearance of CT.
