Name the causes for small heart size
Small heart and no subcutaneous fat on lateral chest x ray.
Markedly dilated stomach with food product and contrast with no evidence of bowel obstruction. No bezoar. No CT evidence of pseudocyst or other complications related to pancreatitis.
Case Discussion
Findings suggest a component of the patient's eating disorder. The markedly dilated stomach could be due to:
superior mesenteric artery syndrome: narrow aorto-mesenteric angel compressing third part of duodenum with subsequent gastric outlet obstruction
gastroparesis secondary to diabetes mellitus
