Snake eyes: facial nerve

Typical "snake eyes" appearance of the facial nerve canal with the tympanic segment of the facial nerve adjacent to the labrynthine segment.

Red dots overlie the facial nerve canal:

  • lateral red dot = tympanic segment of facial nerve
  • medial red dot = labrynthine segment of facial nerve

Snake eyes refer to the appearance of rolling two "ones" on dice.
