Case contributed by Ammar Haouimi
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Painless swelling of the right lower cervical region highly vascularized on color Doppler (not shown).

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
ct

Small well-defined subcutaneous soft tissue mass of the right lower cervical region, slightly hypodense to the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle with progressive enhancement on postcontrast and almost fill-in on the delayed enhanced images. It is located posterolateral to the SCM and anterolateral to the external jugular vein which is compressed.

Another small progressively enhancing mass containing phleboliths, located medial to the right mandibular angle, inferomedial to the medial pterygoid muscle and superior to the submandibular gland. The bone window shows scalloping of the inner mandibular cortex well-demonstrated on the stack key images.

Case Discussion

CT features of well-defined progressively enhancing soft tissue masses of the right lower cervical region and masticator space, most consistent with soft tissue hemangiomas.
