Solitary lucent lesion: osteoid osteoma vs enchondroma

Presentation

Pain in knee and distal femur

Patient Data

Age: 35
Gender: Male

A cystic appearing lesion is seen in distal femur, with an irregular probably thin sclerotic margin.

A lucent oval lesion with a calcific nidus is seen.

Case Discussion

This is a case being considered as osteoid osteoma. However, possibility of enchondroma have also been raised. As patient is responding to aspirin, no surgical intervention is planned yet. Follow-up of the lesion is advised.
