Presentation

Case of chronic renal failure under dialysis. Right inguinal reducible bulge for the last few days. Ultrasound to check for an inguinal hernia.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Wide open internal inguinal ring lying superficial to the right inferior epigastric vessels. Fluid in the right inguinal canal communicating with peritoneal cavity through the internal (deep) inguinal ring. Fluid is compressible/ reducible. Color and spectral flow show fluid moving in the inguinal canal. No herniation of bowel/ intraabdominal fat in the inguinal canal. No extension of fluid in the right hemiscrotum.

All cine-loops are aligned to the inguinal canal long-axis.
