Cervical MRI demonestrating an intramedullary lesion at C2 level with popcorn like hyperintensity and peripheral hypointense hemosiderin rim on T2WI. On T1WI shows high signal intensity and axial GRE images show low signal intensity (blooming) suggestive of hemorrhage.
Case Discussion
On imaging typical popcorn ball like appearance, due to intermittent hemorrhage and deposition of degraded blood products that appear as low signal rim of hemosiderin are specific imaging findings for cavernous venous malformation.
