Patient Data

Age: 60
Gender: Female

MRI dorsal spine

The spinal canal opposite T10 and T11 shows a well-defined, ovoid, dural based soft tissue lesion in an intra-dural, extra-medullary location, measuring 2.3 x 1 x 1 cm in dimensions; present at the right anterolateral aspect of the spinal cord, compressing it left posterolaterally. It demonstrates T1 iso-intensity and T2 slightly hyper-intense signal, with moderate post-contrast enhancement. Small related inferior enhancing dural tail is seen. No cystic changes or signal void are noted.

Case Discussion

Features of intradural extramedullary lesion which can be meningioma, schwannoma or neurofibroma. The possibility to be meningioma is suggested based on the homogenous texture, homogenous enhancement, absences of flow voids and cystic changes, and the presence of dural tail.
