Spinal myxopapillary ependymoma

Weakness of the lower limbs.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

There is a well-defined ovoid solid mass, arising from the lower spinal cord measuring 6.7 x 2.2 x 1.6 cm and extending from T12 to L2 level. It shows an isosignal to the spinal cord on T1, inhomogeneous high signal on T2 with heterogeneous enhancement following IV contrast. Intramedullary edema above the tumor is noted.

Case Discussion

MRI features are suggestive of a myxopapillary ependymoma.
