Admitted to neurology with suspicion of disc prolapse.

Increased signal intensity in the thoracic muscles around L4.

Case Discussion

MRI shows a phlegmon of the thoracic muscles around L4, spreading into the spinal canal with compression of the nerve roots, mimicking presentation of disc prolapse.
