Presentation
Abdominal pain.
Patient Data
The hepatic attenuation value is inhomogeneously less than of the spleen, suggesting an uneven fatty liver.
Multiple small hypo-attenuating lesions are seen at spleen less than 22mm. Most of them show enhancement, particularly at the delayed post contrast phase. Features may consistent with splenic hemangiomatosis.
A few non-enhanced simple cortical cysts are seen at both kidneys, with maximum diameters of 20mm. In addition, a few small stones are noted bilaterally less than 7mm.
Small fat containing para-umbilical hernia and left sided lumbar hernia are evident.
Degenerative changes as osteophytosis are seen at the lumbar spine.
Ring artifact is present.
Case Discussion
Splenic haemangiomatosis involves multiple, diffuse splenic hemangiomas replacing its entire parenchyma. It is a very rare entity and in general, diffuse splenic hemangiomatosis is a benign condition and has an asymptomatic course.
