There are multiple soft–tissue round masses in the abdomen, with enhancing characteristics and features similar to the spleen. Considering that she had a splenectomy many years ago, CT findings are consistent with splenosis.
Case Discussion
Splenosis is a benign condition that occurs after splenectomy and is usually asymptomatic. On CT it can mimic malignancies such as peritoneal carcinomatosis, lymphadenopathy and endometriosis.
It is very important to be attentive to the patient's anamnesis vitae and anamnesis morbi as well as always describe each organ separately as in this case to avoid diagnostic mistakes.
