Spontaneous R ICA dissection

Neck pain for 4 days with mild left foot and leg weakness.

Age: 65
Gender: Female

Typical features of right ICA dissection without infarction (see below)

Case Discussion

Apparent spontaneous dissection of the terminal R ICA.  There is usually a history of trauma.  No obvious underlying cause in this case but must be concerned for fibromuscular dysplasia.  Terminal L ICA looks normal.
