Presentation

65 years old male pateint with lower abdominal midline lump and pain. On anticoagulants.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

The lower part of the  rectus abdominis muscles are enlarged with high attenuation (values) within.

Case Discussion

The enlargement of the rectus abdominus muscles with high attenuation on non contrast images, especially in a patient on anti-coagulant therapy, is pathognomonic of rectus sheath haematomas.
