There is an intrasplenic hematoma with associated hemoperitoneum. A sentinel clot can be identified in the splenic and perisplenic region.
Case Discussion
Spontaneous splenic rupture is a poorly understood and rare entity. The involved spleen may be normal or have an underlying pathology.
