Presentation

Asymptomatic presents for a CT scan of the mandible in view of a lytic lesion seen on orthopantomogram.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

Stafne's cyst

A small lytic lesion (blue arrow), filled with fat, is seen in the medial posterior part of the body of the right mandible. It is inferior to the inferior alveolar nerve canal (green arrow). 

Case Discussion

Stafne cyst is a benign entity not to be mistaken for significant pathology.
